A poem I wrote a few years ago:
Doubt
At twelve
I feel
Doubt
for the first time
Alone
I search for the strength
to get me through
Faith
is all I have
to hold onto
when I walk into
the bitter, empty room
My life
in one man’s hands
for three hours
Body shivers
when I lie
on the numbing steel
Count to one
starting from five
and breathe in
The last thing I hear
before I drift to sleep
Later I wake
Lightheaded by the
overwhelming pain
down my arm
Room spins and spins
but my
Faith
still intact
Alone
I laugh at the
Doubt
as it swiftly
fades away
Don’t get me started on how horrible I’ve been at keeping up with this blog. I won’t even try to come up with excuses, though. The truth is, I’ve been lazy.
But I’ve got a little bit of the blogging bug again.
One of my best friends is getting married later this year and she’s named me the artistic director/maid of honor of her wedding. She wants to make sure I’m involved in all things creative. Location, color scheme, centerpieces, invitations. Just about everything.
She first insisted that I be her wedding planner. But as much as I love everything involved with party planning, besides planning your typical birthday BBQ, organizing a wedding is something I’ve never done.
I clicked on my blog this weekend to look up a link to a gorgeous Colorado wedding, that I remembered sharing as part of my Friday Favorites, and that’s when I realized how much I missed blogging. I especially miss putting together Friday Favorites.
So, let’s see how long this bug lasts.

I was leaving California Adventure today when my friend and I decided to walk over to Paradise Pier before heading out. With some areas of Southern California getting rain this weekend, the sky had been covered with big white clouds all day. And, of course that made for an amazing sunset. It was beautiful to see the sun shinning through the clouds and reflecting on the water.

I opened a CafePress shop for illystrations! You can now get tees, hoodies, mugs, and the one thing some have asked me about, onesies. With the holidays being right around the corner, some of the items would make perfect little gifts!
